I have noticed an increase in duty finder wait times. I suspect many are taking a break until Aug 27th when patch 3.4 is released.

To make things interesting I have been playing my Paladin and queuing up for the Duty Finder. I get groups faster than a DPS or Healer. I play all roles so I am familiar with the queue times. At least on my server, Healer queues are only slightly better than DPS queue times. Save for deep dungeon.

This got me thinking. For patch 3.4 I am going to gear up my tank for Duty Finder runs to farm Tomestones. The down side to this will be that I cannot NEED roll on items for my DPS or Healer. I may have to make considerations for that. In the grand scheme of things, Tomestone gear is usually better than duty loot anyway. With that said, watch Soul Surrender prove me wrong.

Tanking for a duty finder run is not difficult. It’s nothing like tanking for a raid or even a trial. I am actually surprised more folks don’t tank for duty runs. This is my call to action – make a tank and run duties with it.

My experience has been that most people, including myself (why I don’t tank raids) are anxious about tanking. Having so much burden to make sure everything goes right and they don’t lose enmity or face the boss incorrectly then get flamed by the group. It is so much easier to just sit back and DPS. First let me say, it is not easier to just sit back and DPS. Think of tanking as just melee DPS, and you have to learn some different mechanics than the DPS do. Don’t be fooled DPS must know the mechanics also.

Once I changed my paradigm from “OMG I’m going to wipe this group” to “I’m melee DPS with enmity” (aggro) I was able to get over that fear. At least for Duty finder, raids not so much. Yet.[/fusion_text][/fullwidth]
